Doctors...
I have always had a hard time with doctors. Don't trust them, don't like them, don't always listen to them. There are some of them who are great!
My daughter started having seizures at the age of 7 months. I knew they were seizures because I had a best friend in grade school who had them all the time. The first time we went to see a neurologist (Dr.Perry Lubens R. MD) they told us that she was "holding her breath", or "swallowing her tongue". I think we went a year until they said that we needed to record her having a seizure. So we did and then they believed us! (Do you know how frustrating it is to know that there is something wrong with your child and a doctor is looking at you like you are stupid?) So after the doctor looked at the video he finally put her on some medication. Still the doctors couldn't tell us why she was having the seizures. She had an MRI done and according to the first doctor everything looked good......
I was not okay with that answer! I knew that there was something wrong with my angel. But how do you as a mother prove that? I asked for a second opinion. Unfortunately they referred us to the first doctors partner. NOT GOOD! This new doctor(Dr. Foreman) told us the same thing but he did try a little harder then the first one. At this point my little girl (Crystina) was starting to show weakness on her right side of her body. Manley her right hand, right leg, and was behind in learning. I put her into a school that would help her so she wouldn't fall behind when she started Pre-school.
We as parents have strength that we don't know we even have....
The story doesn't end here... I'll write more later....
Thanks for reading...
